European Green Crab Handling Restrictions
European Green Crabs and other aquatic species are subject to Alaska state regulations regarding the handling, transport, possession, and release of live fish and marine organisms.
A person may not take, possess, transport, sell, offer to sell, purchase, or offer to purchase wild fish, game, marine aquatic plants, or any part, nest, or egg of fish or game except as allowed under state law and permitting requirements.
Without a permit, no person may transport, possess, export from the state, or release into Alaska waters any live fish unless they hold a valid fish transport permit.
Without a permit, no person may import live fish into the state for stocking or rearing purposes in Alaska waters.
The Alaska Board of Fisheries may regulate or prohibit the live capture, possession, transport, or release of native or exotic fish species and their eggs.
Always contact Alaska Department of Fish and Game or authorized personnel before transporting or handling suspected invasive species.
